What Colours Suit Me? (And Why Most Men Get It Wrong)

If you’ve ever wondered “what colours suit me?” — you’re not alone.

Most men:

  • Wear colours that dull their features

  • Stick to black, grey and navy without knowing if they actually work

  • Buy clothes that never quite feel right

That’s because choosing the right colours isn’t just about preference — it’s about your natural colouring.

Online Colour Analysis for Men — How It Works

This virtual colour analysis for men is designed to give you clear, personalised answers.

  • After booking in, you’ll receive a simple guide outlining the two photos and information I need from you to ensure accurate results.

  • I analyse how different colours interact with your:

    • Skin tone

    • Hair and eye colours

    • Facial features

  • We jump on Zoom together and walk through your best colours and how to use them.

  • After the session, I’ll send you a digital palette you can use while shopping or building outfits.

Is Online Colour Analysis Accurate?

Yes — and in my opinion, more precise than in-person sessions, which is why I only offer this service online.

This method allows for:

  • Controlled image comparison

  • Side-by-side colour testing

  • Greater variation in colour analysis

The result is a more refined and personalised outcome.

Common Questions About Men’s Colour Analysis

  • Yes, in fact, I give each client a cheat sheet on how to pair the colours in their palette together. You'll find examples of colour pairings, mini-colour schemes to build your wardrobe off and learn the simple colour theory behind why colours match.

  • No, we analyse your best colours using your hair, skin and eyes. You don't need to make any physical changes to your hair before your test - even if your beard colour doesn't match the hair on your head or eyebrows.

  • Yes, when you complete your colour analysis preparation form, mention that you would like to colour your hair and I'll put extra recommendations in your colour palette. If you're going grey and trying to work this into your look, I'll also give you advice on how to transition into having grey hair.

  • When I ask my male clients what colours they wear the most, the answers are often blue, white, grey and black - sometimes there's the odd mention of brown. It's normal to wear a lot of neutrals but even neutral colours still have undertones. For example, in shades of brown, there are warm browns: think of caramel browns and there are cool browns: think of purply browns. I can help you pick the best neutrals for your complexion and give you advice on what other colours to match back with those.

FAQs

Where is the Colour Analysis held?

My Colour Analysis service is online only. I don’t offer this service in person as I’ve found virtual colour analysis is more accurate.

Can my palette be printed?

We give out our palettes digitally so you can take them shopping with you and easily pull them up on your phone. I don’t recommend printing these palettes on a household printer. If you would like a book of your custom colour analysis results, I can arrange this for you at an additional cost.

What is online Colour Analysis?

Online colour analysis is a virtual consultation that determines which colours best suit your natural features using professional assessment techniques.

Will this help me if I’m going grey or plan to dye my hair?

Yes, in fact I highly recommend a colour analysis if you are struggling to find colours that suit you due to aging or changing your hair colour. So many of my clients report back that once they have their colours, they actually like their greys!

Do you do Seasonal Colour Analysis?

If you are familiar with Seasonal Colour Analysis, I’m happy to use these terms when you have your Zoom Consultation. I’ve trained in Seasonal Colour Analysis but have since moved on to Directional Colour Analysis which is very similar, however, it allows me to customise your palette, rather than fit you into the closest palette.

What time zone do you run your appointments in?

I am based in Sydney, Australia. We run on Australian Eastern Standard Time. When you book in, please keep in mind that the times shown are Sydney-times.
