Spring Summer 2024 Colour Trends:

This spring and summer we saw a continuation of the minimalist styles of autumn and winter, a focus on sheer fabrics and tailored suiting in sorbet colours and overall, a mix of colours that are mostly subdued. Already, most of these colours are in the early spring collections in stores now, but some will hit a little later in the season. I really wanted to help you pick colours that flatter your complexion, so I’ve broken down each colour below and list which colour season suits each trending colour best. Let’s start with the neutrals:

Trending Neutrals Of Spring Summer 2024:

Porcelain: I’ve seen different reiterations of porcelain across the runways, some warmer than others, but not so warm that a summer season couldn’t pull it off. If you have a warm undertone, go for a creamier version, if you have a cool undertone think of a chalk while or silk white instead of a creamy porcelain. This colour is perfect for light springs, light summers, true summers, soft summers, soft autumns, true autumns and true winters.

Chocolate Brown: This is an excellent alternative to black for soft autumns, true autumns and deep autumns as well as true springs and bright springs. As a dark autumn colour type myself, I’ll be using this chance to stock up on summery basics in this colour.

Silver Grey: Think blue-tac grey or the type of blue-grey you find in a marble benchtop, this has a very cool undertone that is perfect for light summers, true summers, soft summers and can make a great neutral for bright winters and true winters.

Charcoal Grey: This deep neutral is another great alternative to black and perfect for both dark autumns and dark winters, as well as soft summers and soft autumns and true autumns.

Spring Summer 2024 Trending Accent Colours:

Pistachio: This is going to be one of the most popular colours of the season, pistachio is perfect for light springs, true springs and bright springs.

Sky Blue: You could use this colour as a neutral or a statement colour, especially if you’re a light summer, true summer, soft summer or bright winter.

Millennial Pink: This colour is already coming out in stores and could be a great colour for the office. It’s perfect for light summers, true summers and soft summers.

Lilac: This colour can be tough for those with a warm skin tone, especially autumns, but it’s lovely on light summers, bright winters, true winters and deep winters.

French Navy: This colour is quite universal, but if I’m getting picky, light springs could go for something lighter and warmer. All other colour types can easily wear this colour.

Lemon Drop: I’ve seen two versions of pale yellow across collections for this upcoming season, one is a bright sunshine yellow, which is the yellow you see in the swatches, all perfect for springs and even true or deep winters, and then there’s a buttery yellow which looks more pastel which would be great for light springs and light summers.

Peach Fuzz: This was named Pantone’s colour of the year, so expect to see it not just in fashion, but also in makeup and interiors. Peach fuzz is perfect for light springs, true springs, bright springs and bright winters.

Sun Orange: This bright orange is so cherry and fresh and much brighter than the rest of the trending colours for spring and summer in 2024. True springs and bright springs will look great in this colour.

Gold: Gold fabrics, coated leathers, coated jeans and skirts in gold have been very popular, as well as gold shoes and bags. Soft autumns, true autumns, deep autumns, light springs, true springs and bright springs all look great in gold.

Olive: This colour is perfect for soft autumns, true autumns and deep autumns and can make a great colour for basics, not just a statement colour. I particularly like incorporating this colour in sandals and bags for summer.

Cherry Red: This spring and summer a deep cherry red has been popular, especially in leathers. Think outside of shoes, bags and belts, red leather skirts were all over the runways. If you’re a bright winter, true winter, deep winter, deep autumn or bright spring then this colour could be great for you.
